:: 18.04.03 : The Christian Aid Sponsored Walk ::
This morning Beverley Knight swopped the glamourous stage for a slightly more rough terrain as she led a sponsored walk across Cannock Chase, Wolverhampton. She took part in the eight mile hike through the beauty spot to collect cash for Christian Aid. People taking part were due to set off from the Cannock Chase Visitor Centre at 9.45am, but things were delayed as Beverley was two and a half hours late. Penny Thompson, area co-ordinator for Christian Aid in Staffordshire (pictured leading the line behind Beverley) said "I am thrilled that Beverley and Delores were so motivated by their trip, that they are determined to do something to make a difference."

Unfortunatley Miss Knight didn't pick up any gongs at today's Capital FM 'Help A London Child' awards. Ms Dynamite won the catergory of Favourite Female Vocalist and other winners included Coldplay (Favourite UK Band), Daniel Bedingfield (Favourite Male Vocalist) & Nelly & Kelly's 'Dilemma' (Favourite International Single).

:: 08.04.03 : Diva Kicks Off Her Shoes ::
Beverley will swop her glamorous stagewear for sensible shoes to lead a charity fund-raising sponsored walk. The Wolverhampton-born singer will take part in an eight mile hike across the Cannock Chase beauty spot on Good Friday to raise money for Christian Aid. Walkers will set off from the Cannock Chase Visitors Centre on Marquis Drive, near Rugeley, at 9.45am, and organisers are urging as many people as possible to take part or make a donation on the day. Beverley and her mother Deloris Smith started campaigning for the charity after visiting Brazil last year to see its work for people with HIV and Aids.

Last month the pair raised £1,246 for Christian Aid by auctioning off Beverley's designer clothes and shoes to a thrilled crowd at the All Nation Christian Centre in Temple Street, Wolverhampton. Beverley said: "Some of my friends with HIV have gone, but others are still here. "I'd love to introduce them to the strong people I've met in Brazil. "I think it would benefit them enormously to see that you can keep living. "People don't just die from HIV, they die from discrimination too."

According to the press, the brand new War Child 'Hope' album featuring Beverley Knight's 'Love's In The Need Of Love Today', will now be released on Monday 21st April 2003.

Fame Academy runner-up Lemar has signed a five-album deal with Sony. The 24-year-old London singer has been snapped up by manager Richard Griffiths, who launched Dido's career. Lemar sang with Beverley Knight during the last night of her UK tour last December, on 'Beautiful Contradiction'.
