'Who I Am' represents almost three years work for Beverley since her gold-selling album 'Prodigal Sista' with it's accompanying Brits nomination and two MOBO Awards for Best Album and Beverley as Best R&B Act. Knight is no mere production line diva and the new album represents the coming of age of a true artist and one who defies simplified categorisation. Here is a strong black British woman unafraid to explore her identity, vulnerability and sexuality in her lyrics as well as a gifted soul singer, arranger and ever developing songwriter.

Beverley's famed vocal-talents are utilised to the full across the reggae/dancehall inflected Top 20 single 'Get Up!', the club tracks 'Whatever's Clever' and 'Same' and the poignant classic song writing of 'Shoulda Woulda Coulda', 'Shape Of You' and 'Gold'. Add to these the emotionally-charged 'Fallen Soldier' and the vocal powerhouse blues of 'Best Seller Mystery' and 'Who I Am' stands up as by far and away Knight's best work to date.

Beverley co-wrote all the tracks on the album with, amongst others, Che Guevera & James Poyser (Lauryn Hill,Erykah Badu, Jill Scott etc) and Green Eyed Bandits (TLC, Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopez) whilst Poyser/Guevera, D'influence, Dodge and Mike Spencer among others perform production honours. Feited Def Jam US artist Musiq Soulchild also puts in an appearance, dropping guest vocals on the stunning duet, 'Beautiful Contradiction'.
