a charity close to Beverley's heart. This is better than any
present that the star could ever want, and would be much more
appreciated!! You can do this by calling 0845 330

Tonight ::
Beverley Knight's clothes and
shoe collection will be sold off tonight at a charity auction
event, being held by Bev's mother, Delores. This is due to
be taking place at the All Nations Christian Centre, Temple
Street, Wolverhampton at 7pm. There will be a £1 entry
cost, and all proceeds from this and the auction will be sent
to the Christian Aid in Brazil cause.
This event is part of many that Delores has set up, since
visiting Brazil with Bev in October 2002. Beverley states
that 'The trip to Brazil organised by Christian Aid left
an everlasting impression on myself and my mum. This is the
reason my mum decided to put this event together. We just
hope to raise enough money to help and support thosewe saw
suffering in Salvador, Brazil.'

13.03.03 : Miss Knight Sings Praises Of Home Talent ::
Last night Beverley Knight
returned to her home city of Wolverhampton, for a gig that
was taking place to help promote new talent in the area. She
was joined by a string of heavyweights from the music industry
for 'Rendezvous' at The Terrace, where she
performed the finale number 'Ain't Nobody'.

After
the show, Bev said "It
is a great idea, there's not much of an outlet for music in
Wolverhampton except the kind of time honoured route of pubs,
and definitely not for soul, R&B and gospel - except the
church and that doesn't appeal to the majority of people."
In Wolverhampton you have the Varsity, that is a very genre-specific
crowd, outside of that you are looking at very tiny pubs and
clubs. Then you jump to the Civic Hall and that is not a jump
most musicians can get involved in."
